Feature

The rep is always one click away.

Every chat your stand-in handles shows up in your dashboard in real time. The moment you want in, one click — the chat header on the visitor's screen swaps to your name, your avatar, your pin.

What it does

Every conversation your stand-in has shows up in your dashboard in real time. You see the messages, you see the visitor's captured info, and you see one button: Take over now. Click it, and the chat header on the visitor's screen swaps to your name, your avatar, and your pin. You're in the conversation, and the AI steps out.

If you'd rather not surprise the visitor, use Offer to join instead — the AI tells them “Joonas wants to jump in, OK?” and the handoff only happens when they agree.

There's also a quieter version: if you just type a reply into a stand-in conversation, Stand performs the handoff automatically — your name takes over and the AI hands off the rest of the chat to you.

When it helps

  • A hot lead lands at 9am. The AI captured their email overnight. You read the transcript, take over, and pick up where the AI left off.

  • The AI is stuck. A visitor asks something the agent doesn't know. You see the gap, jump in, and answer it personally.

  • You want to add the human touch. A returning customer is chatting. You take over to greet them by name.

  • You're at a conference. Your phone buzzes — push notification says someone's chatting. You "Offer to join" so the visitor isn't startled.

  • You're juggling five chats. Keyboard shortcuts let you cycle without touching the mouse.

How to use it

  1. 01

    Be online

Toggle Available in the dashboard header (desktop) or sidebar menu (mobile). Visitors only get routed to you while you're available.

  2. 02

    Pick a concurrent limit

Slider in the same controls — between 1 and 20 simultaneous chats (default 5). When you're at the cap, new visitors go to your stand-in.

  3. 03

    Watch the active panel

Open chats appear as cards. Stand-in chats are in their own section with the AI badge. The dynamic subheader tells you what's happening: “accepting chats”, “at capacity”, “covered by [agent]”, or “not accepting”.

  4. 04

    Take over

On any stand-in card, click Takeover now. The visitor sees a system card naming you, the chat header swaps to your identity, and you can type immediately.

  5. 05

    Or offer to join

On the same card, click Offer to join if you'd rather wait for the visitor's consent. The AI passes the message; you take over only if they say yes.

  6. 06

    Or just type

If you click into a stand-in conversation and start typing, Stand performs the handoff for you. Your reply goes out under your name.

  7. 07

    Use keyboard shortcuts

    • Alt+N / Alt+P — next / previous session
    • Alt+W — jump to a waiting session
    • Alt+E — end the current session
    • Alt+1–9 — jump to a specific session
  8. 08

    Get notified when offline

Install the dashboard as a PWA (your browser will offer to). When the AI handles a chat because no rep was around, you get a push notification with “Offer to join” — even when the dashboard tab is closed.

Try it on your site. Free, forever.
