The short version
- Is Stand Chat free forever?
- Yes. Stand Chat Base is $0 forever, includes 15 full visitor conversations per week, and does not require a credit card.
- What counts as one Stand chat?
- Stand counts each visitor conversation once as one chat—whether AI or a human answers—not each message or AI reply. A longer conversation, a human takeover, or a different Stand AI model still uses one chat. Stand checks usage only when a new chat starts, so reaching a plan limit never interrupts a conversation already underway.
- What happens if demand exceeds my included chats?
- After the included quota, Stand uses already-purchased chats from your available balance as a reserve. An organization owner can sign in and manually pre-fund reserve chats at $0.10 each. Public visitor requests never authorize or dispatch a purchase. If no reserve chats remain, new chats pause until an owner tops up or the quota resets; chats already underway continue.
- What is included in the free Base plan?
- Base includes AI website chat, unlimited reps with multiple AI Stand-ins and custom instructions, unlimited sites with their own AI instructions, custom page entry points, instant human takeover or an AI-led introduction, browser and mobile alerts, lead capture, AI-led Product Discovery interviews, 90-day searchable history with JSON export for analysis in your own tools, and email digests.
- How much is Pro?
- Pro is $10 per month and includes 150 full visitor conversations per month. Organization owners can sign in to pre-fund reserve chats at $0.10 each; new chats pause when the included quota and reserve balance are exhausted.
- Does Stand charge per seat?
- No. Stand includes unlimited reps on every plan, including Base, so pricing is based on chat volume instead of seats.
- Does AI cost extra?
- No. AI Stand-ins are included in every plan, including the free Base plan, within each plan chat quota.
- What knowledge base features are included?
- Base includes one website knowledge base and up to 10 indexed web pages. Pro includes five knowledge bases with 50 MB total indexed content and up to 200 indexed web pages as independent limits, plus PDF, Word, Markdown, text, and sitemap sources. Business includes 200 MB total indexed content with no separate plan count cap on knowledge bases or indexed web pages, can index as many website pages as fit within that allowance, and adds automatic nightly updates from compatible website sitemaps.
