AI website chat for agencies and expert teams

“What do you charge?” is never the whole question.

Your Stand-in is an AI assistant you name and brief. It answers prospects day and night, asks what your team would ask, and gets the brief to the right specialist.

Example conversation on fernhill.example/services/websites, Thu 9:40 pm
  1. Visitor: Hi! We need a new website. What do you charge?
  2. Otto, AI Stand-in: Most of our site projects run $18k–40k, depending on pages and content. Is it a redesign? Any launch date?
  3. Visitor: A redesign, maybe a rebrand too. We launch on March 12.
  4. Otto, AI Stand-in: Tight, but doable if the brand work starts first. What’s behind the change?
  5. Visitor: Nobody gets what we do from our current site.
  6. Otto, AI Stand-in: Then the story comes first. Tomas leads our web projects and plans launches like this with our brand team. Can Tomas email you tomorrow?
  7. Visitor: Please! dana@example.com
  8. Email to the team: Contact request from Stand: Dana. dana@example.com Reason: A redesign, maybe a rebrand, live by March 12. The story isn’t clear yet. To tomas@fernhill.example, with the transcript

How it plays out

From a one-line inquiry to a first call about the work

  1. Thu 9:40 pm · On your services page

Turn a vague inquiry into a brief

Brief it with your new-business questions. It answers from your case studies and pages first, then asks about scope, timing and what’s behind the change. The conversation is the brief.

  2. Fri 9:12 am · In the right inbox

Send it to the specialist who’d take the call

Give each service its own Stand-in on its own pages, with follow-ups going to the person who leads that work. Stand picks the Stand-in by page, not by reading the question.

  3. Friday afternoon · Live

Join when the visitor says yes

Specialists see their own Stand-in’s chats and can offer to join. On Pro, a signal you describe, like “names a launch date”, pings them first.

  4. Monday · The whole studio

    Everyone in, no seat fees

Invite the whole studio and add every site you run, each with its own instructions. Every plan includes unlimited teammates and sites; you pay per conversation, whoever answers.

What your visitors ask

Hear what your services page isn’t saying.

At an expo stand, the surprising questions teach you the most. So do the ones visitors type at 9:40 pm.

  • Do you take projects under $15k?
  • Can you work with our in-house developer?
  • Do you build too, or just design?
  • How soon could you start?

Day one

Start with one specialist and one service.

One Stand-in, one set of pages, one inbox. Add the next when this one works.

  1. Invite the specialist to your team. Member invitations

  2. They create a Stand-in that reads your site, and limit it to their service’s pages.

  3. Paste the prompt, point follow-ups at their inbox, and test it before it goes live. Try it out

  4. Turn it on, with Stand-in coverage.

Stand-in prompt

Stand-ins → Edit → Identity

You are [Name], [Studio]’s AI assistant for [web projects], working with [Specialist]. Answer from our website and this prompt. Never invent prices, dates or clients. Then learn, one question at a time: is it new, a redesign or fixes? What must it do for their business? When should it go live? A budget range, if they’ll share it. For a real project, sum up the brief and offer a follow-up with [Specialist].

Questions

Good to know.

See all FAQs

Can we run Stand on client sites?

Yes, as sites in your account, if the client can share your team: the owner sees every site’s chat history, and teammates can see the knowledge your Stand-ins answer from. A client that needs its own admin and data boundary needs its own Stand account.

Site management

Does Stand pick the right specialist from the question?

No. It picks by page: each specialist’s Stand-in covers their service pages. Teammates’ Stand-ins on the same page share it, and signals label chats without moving them.

Stand-in specialization

Do we pay per seat?

No. Every plan includes unlimited teammates and sites. You pay per conversation: free for 15 a week, Pro $10 a month for 150, Business $3,600 a year for 15,000.
