Chapter 00
Quickstart: Zero to your first chat
Setup checklist
Three steps, then test it.
- 01
Create your account
Sign up and finish the profile visitors will see in chat.
- Use the login method you want for the dashboard.
- Your avatar, title, and organization name are visitor-facing.
- You can edit profile details later from Profile.
- 02
Add Stand to your website
Add your domain, copy the snippet, publish it, and confirm Stand sees it.
- The
<script>snippet should be included in your website, typically in the<head>section. - You can add it only to specific pages, or add it across the whole site and control visibility from Stand.
- If you use a website builder, look for its custom code or custom script setting.
- WordPress: use a header/footer code plugin, paste the snippet into its Header field, then save.
- Webflow: Site settings > Custom Code > Head code, then publish.
- Wix: Dashboard > Settings > Custom Code, add it to Head and choose the pages.
- Squarespace: Settings > Developer Tools > Code Injection, paste it in Header.
- Shopify: Online Store > Themes > Edit code, paste it in theme.liquid inside <head>.
- After publishing, open the live page once and look for the green status.
- 03
Make yourself available
Turn yourself on for chats and send one message from the public page.
- Available means visitors can reach you while the dashboard is open.
- If you changed site routing, make sure “I chat here” is checked in Sites.
- A real test chat should appear in Chats before you tune anything else.
- If you get stuck, use Support or Feedback from the app menu.
